N.K. Varadkar Arts, R.V. Belose Commerce Junior/Senior College, and Shantilal Jain Science Junior College, Dapoli, District Ratnagiri, have emerged as a beacon of higher education over the past 50 years. Initially, the educational opportunities in Khed, Dapoli, and Mandangad talukas were scarce, forcing students to either migrate to Pune or Mumbai or discontinue their studies altogether. Recognizing this gap, Loknete Shri Ramchandra Belose (Dada), with the support of Adv. Barve, Adv. Khan, Mr. Balsheth Talathi, and others laid the foundation for an Arts and Commerce College in Dapoli on November 2, 1973. Located on the serene Konkan Coast of Maharashtra State, our college has grown from modest beginnings into a cornerstone of higher education. Our purpose-built campus includes expansive sports grounds, robust internet connectivity, well-stocked libraries, and state-of-the-art laboratories, fostering an environment conducive to holistic student development. Academically, we offer a wide range of programs. We offer Arts, Commerce, and Science streams for junior college students (XIth and XIIth). Affiliated with the University of Mumbai, our undergraduate programs include B.A., B.Com, BMS, and B.Sc.(IT), while postgraduate options encompass an M.A., M.Com, and a PhD in Commerce. In addition to academic excellence, we emphasize a vibrant extracurricular life. Students actively participate in cultural events, debates, competitions, and our annual social gathering, enhancing the cultural and intellectual fabric of our campus and nurturing leadership skills and community spirit.

Our distinguished faculty, predominantly PhD holders with additional qualifications such as CA and MBA degrees, brings rigorous academic standards and practical insights to our classrooms. Supported by a dedicated team of professors and non-teaching staff, we create a nurturing environment where students thrive personally and academically.

Beyond academics, our commitment extends to holistic student development through initiatives like NSS, NCC, and sports activities. Our annual sports events celebrate athletic prowess, teamwork, and sportsmanship among students.

Under the leadership of Shri Dhananjay Yadav and the guidance of Principal Dr. B. D. Karhad, alongside IQAC Coordinator Dr. Ganesh Mangade, our college recently achieved NAAC accreditation with a commendable B+ grade in June 2024, reflecting our dedication to quality education and academic excellence.

Reflecting on our 50-year journey, we celebrate our commitment to shaping future leaders and thinkers. With over 1300 students, including those enrolled in YCMOU Open University programs, our college continues to expand its impact in higher education. Narusheth Kashinath Varadkar of Murud donated 51 thousand rupees. Chief Minister Vasantrao Naik came for the inauguration, the Chief Minister donated Rs.25000/- from Chief Minister’s Fund by giving three acres of land permanently and 6 acres on lease for the college.

Presently, the college is in its own premises and has facilities like large sports ground, scenic surroundings, internet facility, library, laboratory, etc.

The college is working to shape the latent qualities of the rural students with the help of the staff of the college. Regular attendance of students in classes is expected, along with conduct which will add to the prestige of the college by developing students latent qualities. It is students duty to follow the rules and discipline of the college.
