About Library
N. K. Varadkar Arts And R. V. Belose Commerce college Dapoli was established on July 1, 1974 at Dapoli with the motto “Karmanyevadhikaraste Ma Faleshu Kadachan” R.V. Belose Education foundation, with the goal of providing higher education to the students in the remote and rural areas of Dapoli area and implementing the social role that the students should not be deprived of education. N. K. Varadkar Arts and R. V. Belose Commerce College Dapoli are considered as an academic institution of higher learning offering degree and Post-Graduation courses. In colleges, the library occupies a prominent position and it is an important and integral part of the teaching program. It is not merely a depository of books, but an active workshop instrument in the production of or original thinking. The aim of college education and college libraries in inter-related. College library extends opportunities for self-education to the deserving and enthusiastic students without any distinction. These libraries develop in each student a sense of responsibility in the pursuit of knowledge. College library stimulates the students to obtain, evaluate and recognize knowledge and to familiarize themselves with the trends of knowledge for further education and learning new disciplines.
The horizons of various fields of knowledge are expanding at a rapid pace. Running with these times, the college library plays an important role in the college. The center of development of any college is the college library. Since the establishment of the college, the library has also been started in the college. In 2015, the college has built a separate library building.It includes Issue-Return department, library stock room, student Study room etc. There is an arrangement for 80 students to sit in the study hall of the library at a time. The college and various departments of the college have made a distinct mark in the district and the University of Mumbai by carrying out various activities.

Objectives of Library
The objectives of college libraries are based mainly on the objectives of the institution itself. The college library must, therefore, reflect the purpose of the institution of which it is part.- Makes available to the student’s books and allied reading materials relevant to the courses offered in the colleges.
- Makes available the books and documents required by faculty members in preparation of their instructional courses.
- Provides supplementary books and other reading materials to help to study and teach at the college.
- Provides a comprehensive selection of authoritative books and documents needed by the faculty members to pursue their research programmes.
- Promotes the proper use of the reading materials available in the stack.
- Trains the students in making use of the library properly and derive full advantage out of it, integrating the library with the education course.
Librarian Message
The college library is housed in the separate two story building adjacent to the main academic block. The library being in its early years is equipped with latest books and provides useful and research oriented services to the faculty, staffs and students. We have with abundant reference material like encyclopaedias, directories, dictionaries, history books, literature, geographic collections, general knowledge, competitive examination books, civil services and UGC NET/SET etc. Besides college subscribes various print journals and periodicals on latest information. Library has well established lending and text section for circulation of materials to hundreds of students on daily basis. Library is giving students access to national/local magazines and newspapers to keep students abreast of latest knowledge happening around the world. It remains open from 8.30 am till 6.00 PM on all working days throughout year. We have seating capacity of 80 students at a time in our library for both boys and girls. The college has subscribed to INFLIBNET-NLIST E-Resources for academic welfare of students and faculty. Library has completed automation and is giving access to two terminals of OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue). We are constantly working on adding qualitative books and reference material for the college library. I want to assure my students that all your information needs would be fulfilled be it conventional mode of information or web based.

Library General Rules
WHILE USING THE LIBRARY, PLEASE ENSURE- All Students/Scholars Right your name & time in the Library Entry Register every time.
- Identity card is compulsory for getting access to the Library.
- Keep your bags & other belongings at the property counter near the entrance
- Deposit your id–card at the counter & collection while leaving.
- Do not carry nay personal or issued books in the book stack area.
- Seek permission of the library staff before entering the stock room.
- Maintain absolute silence & strict discipline in the reading hall.
- All users are requested to keep their mobiles switched off or in silent mode in the library.
- Do not carry beverages and eatables in the library.
- Follow instruction given by the librarian or the staff at the counter.
- All college students can take membership free of cost.
- All teaching & non-teaching staff can take membership.
- Membership for the outsiders will be provided with the permission of the principal.
- Outsiders can go thought the collection in the library premises with librarian’s permission.
- Tow books UG & PG students (per week) will be issued against their library I Card/Borrower Card.
- Check the book at the time of issuing in case of any defect or damage please informs the library staff.
- Return the issued book on or before the due date
- Renewal is compulsory before the due date otherwise fine will be charged at rs.2/- per textbook & per day.
- Book marked reference / journals / magazine/thesis/ project reports etc. Will be not is issued outside the library.
- In case of lost or damage of book, replacement of book has to be made by the user.
- Readers should not deface, mark, cut, mutilate or damage library resources in any way. If anyone is found doing so, he will be charged the full replacement cost of the resources books borrowed should be protected from rain, dust and insect etc.

1.Librarian Day
On 12th August 2022, on the occasion of Dr. SR Ranganathan Jayanti and Librarian Day, an exhibition of competitive examination materials was organized in the library.
2.Online quiz
On 15th August 2022, on the occasion of Amrit Jubilee year of Indian Independence, an online quiz was organized on the topic “Indian Freedom Struggle”.
3. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam birthday Anniversary
On October 15, 2022, a 10-hour consecutive reading activity was organized on the occasion of Bharat Ratna Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam’s birthday. Three students were selected who read consecutively from this activity.
4.Students and teachers visited the library
On January 24, 2023, high school students and teachers visited the library on the occasion of the institute. The librarian Mr. Rewale gave guidance on how to use the library along with various departments and available services and facilities, literature, reference books, competitive examination department etc.
1. Organization of State Level Webinar
On 20th July 2021, a webinar on “e-learning resources available around us” was organized on behalf of N K Varadkar Arts and R V Bellose College of Commerce, Dapoli Library Department. SPDM Arts, Commerce and Science College Shirpur Dhule Dr. Manjusha Ahirrao as expert guide in library and information science for this webinar.
2. National Librarian Day
On behalf of N. K Varadkar Arts and R.V. Belose College of Commerce, Dapoli Library Department, 12th August Father of Indian Library Science Dr. S. R. Ranganathan’s birthday and National Librarian Day on 12th August 2021 at 11.00 am.15 min. Completed in this time.
3. Reading Inspiration Day
Reading Inspiration Day was celebrated on the birth anniversary of former President of India Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam on 15th October. Since it is the Corona-19 day, this year the library department conducted an online reading competition for the students in order to create motivation and increase the interest of the students towards reading.
4. Rangoli competition and exhibition
on the occasion of Amrit Mahotsav of Independence a Rangoli competition and exhibition was organized on the occasion of Amrit Mahotsav of Independence organized by R V Belose Education Foundation Dapoli, N K Varadkar Arts and RV Belose College of Commerce Library Department.
5. February 27th Marathi Raj Bhasha Diwas
Organized by R.V. Belose Education Foundation Dapoli, N K Varadkar Arts and RV Belose Commerce College Dapoli Library Department organized an online quiz (2022) based on the life of Kusumagraja on February 27th Kusumagraj Birthday and Marathi Rajbhasha Day.
6. Pustak Aplya Dari Activity
On the occasion of ‘Marathi Language Promotion Fortnight – 2022’, an activity ‘Pustak Aplya Dari’ was organized on behalf of the library department of the college and the Marathi department.
1. National Librarian Day:
Father of Indian Librarianship Dr.S.R. Ranganathan’s birthday was celebrated on National Librarian Day. On this occasion, the statue of Dr. S.R. Ranganathan was worshiped in the college and a wreath was offered by the Principal. Principal Dr. Nimbalkar gave information about Dr. Ranganathan’s work and wished him Happy Librarian Day. On this occasion, member of the library committee Prof. Koli Sir, Joshi Sir and Library Assistant Shri. Anant Khopkar was present.Mr. Khopkar thanked all those present. Thus the program concluded.
2. Book Exhibition, Essay Competition
As the colleges are closed due to the infection of Kovid-19, essays on current affairs topics were asked from the students without actually being present in the college. And after checking it by the board of examiners, they were given the first, second, third and motivational numbers. Also, the library service should be student-oriented, so that maximum number of students and readers come to the library and develop interest in reading. Chairman of the Institute for Library Prosperity Hon. Mr. Janakitai Belose, Chairman of the Library Committee – Principal Dr. Suresh Nimbalkar, Member- Prof. Koli Sir, Member – Superintendent Shri. Various activities were implemented in the library under the guidance of Joshi Sir. Also all the members of the library committee and the library attendant Shri. Khopkar’s contribution is fundamental. Hearty thanks to all of them on behalf of the library department.
1. Librarian Day
Father of Indian Library Science Dr. S. R. Ranganathan’s birthday was celebrated on August 12 with various programs. In this, book exhibition of reference books of various subjects, poster exhibition was organized.
2. 15 October Reading Inspiration Day
Former President of India Bharat Ratna Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam’s birthday was celebrated as Reading Inspiration Day. Students should be motivated to read. Kalam’s autobiographical reading and book exhibition were organized to enrich mind and thinking power as well as knowledge through reading.
3. Book Exhibition
On the occasion of World Geography Day, an exhibition of geography books was organized in the library. Also, an exhibition of books of Marathi literature was organized on the occasion of Marathi Language Day on February 27.
4. Other Activities
Debate Competition, Essay Competition, Power Point Presentation, Poster Exhibition, Oratory Competition were organized on 10 September 2018. The prizes of these competitions were distributed by the chief guests.
