Department Details

Commerce is the backbone of every kind of development. Commerce education has got more importance in various walks of life. Students from this faculty have achieved more success in various fields. The department of Commerce was established in 1974. At the time of establishment there was undergraduate program B.com and There were only 16 students in commerce faculty, however the total strength of the students has reached 464 (2023-24). In 2011, the commerce department started a 2 years Post Graduate program M.Com, which helps the students of rural areas to complete their professional education.
In 2015 the department introduced a certificate course in Basic accounting and direct taxation. We are proud to mention that many of our students have developed their career in various fields; this is qualitative development. In the 2022-23 department of commerce started a Ph.D. research Centre in commerce.
